Skin Cancer Overview

Mr Matthew Potter spent the final part of his training as a fellow in Plastic Surgery in Queensland, Australia, an area well known for having the highest incidence recorded of skin cancer world wide. His NHS practice is primarily geared to treating patients with skin cancer, complex head and neck cancer and the reconstruction of major cancer defects.

Mr Potter is a member of two skin cancer multidisciplinary teams in Oxford and Swindon. In addition he is also part of the Head and Neck multidisciplinary and Skull base teams in Oxford.

Currently he is a member of the Thames Valley skin cancer specialist group and an advisor to Cancer Research UK on Cancer research and trials. He is at present part of a CRUK group undertaking trials on Merkel Cell Cancer and Squamous Cell Carcinoma.

Mr Potter has presented and published extensively on all types of skin cancer. Mr Potter works with other experts in skin Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Pathology, and Dermatologists. In doing so he provides a multidisciplinary approach for those with cancers of the skin. Other allied professionals are included as and when needed.

With this broad approach patients are not just offered Surgical treatments but where appropriate non-Surgical treatments.
